For those who are on the assessment stage, NMC asked me to upload a copy of my qualification certificate. Does qualification certificate parallel to my diploma? Thanks guys!

There's an email confirming that you passed the CBT, click the "log in" link and log in to your account. From your account "pay now" which is a pink tab will show, click it and pay via credit card.

I took the cbt last feb and luckily i passed. I just want to ask if anyone here received an email from nmc that you can take the part 2 exam already? It's already one month since I submited the full application and assessment part. Thanks!

Hiya! I am currently here in the Philippines but then I am a permanent resident in the UK. Unfortunately, I have to come back here in the Philippines just to gain a 12 month experience because I have to fly immediately in the UK after passing the NLE. The exam was very basic :) The Royal Marsden book was very helpful in my case. Just review the NMC code, consent, stages of pressure ulcers, drug computations that even a Grade 1 student can solve, MS too but do not be bothered about it too much because the conditions that came out are mostly the known diseases like CVD and DM. Do not stress yourself too much, just relax and pray :) Good luck!

A friend of mine who is also bound for uk was adviced by his agency Ipams here in the philippines to still take the regular ielts this coming april 30. While my recruiter directly from the uk communicated with me saying that its going to be the ukvi that i shoud sit since the new policy is.mandatory. My recruiter in the uk is also tied up with the same agency as my friend which is Ipams.

Yeah. My papers have been with them for more than 6weeks already and I still don't receive anythig from them. They advised me last week to call them this coming week to ask for update.

Sitting for the regular ielts exam spells taking ielts twice (regular and ukvi) as the latter is mandatory for the visa processing. The only plausible reason I could come up with to explain the need to take the regular one is that, if in case the examinee flunks the test on the first try, at least (if its any consolation) it's only Php9k wasted and not Php15k down the drain. It may sound nonsensical but let's face it, only a handful are lucky enough to get the required scores in one attempt.

That's absolutely right. The 'old' IELTS Academic Module remains the requirement of the NMC with a 7.0 band in all parts of the exam. On the other hand, this UKVI is the requirement of the immigration for the English requirement part. This, tho, is an added burden for those who haven't taken the exam before 6 April.

Thank you for the reply , but does anyone knows what is the score needed for this UKVI academic . I had taken the exam for REGULAR ielts ACADEMIC last March 28 2015, here in singapore because im working here and had the results of the following , L- 6, W- 6.5, R-7, S-7 , so primarily i need to do it again to get all the band score needed to apply for the NMC , because you cant registered in the NMC with out this IELTS band score ALL 7 , this is the first step right to register , but my confusion is , i need to take still the REGULAR ielts academic , then same as well need to take the UKVI academic , so i need to take both of this IELTS exam ?

Hello. As what I have mentioned above, the required IELTS band score for NMC registration still remains at least 7 in all components (listening, reading, writing, speaking) and a total band score of at least 7 as well. As with regards to what exam to take (regular or UKVI), I would still stick to my above recommendation that you should take the IELTS UKVI. Basically, the regular IELTS and the UKVI are the same content wise. However, based on the new Visas and Immigration policy, only the UKVI-approved language proficiency tests (one of which is the IELTS UKVI) will be accepted for visa and immigration application. All those that are not included on the approved language tests (such as the regular IELTS) will not be entertained for UK application. The main reason why the UKVI has issued an update with the policy is that the regulating body just wants to make sure that all language tests submitted for UK application are actually approved tests and are taken from approved test centers. This is why we now have the standardized language tests for UK.

Furthermore, in my opinion, if you are pursuing a goal to become a UK RN, then better yet take the IELTS UKVI Academic (there is a also a General Training version with the UKVI) and get the required band score for NMC registration.

The NMC as a matter of fact has not yet updated its requirement in terms of language proficiency. What is stated on the website remains to be IELTS of Academic version with at least 7 in all subtests. Therefore, if you are going to take and pass the IELTS UKVI Academic, chances are, your test result would still be in line with the NMCs requirement. However, if you make it with the regular IELTS, the NMC might consider your test result, but you can never use it for visa application.

Well, this is just a recommendation and I am not forcing anybody here to take my word for it. This is entirely based on my own understanding of the NMC registration requirement and the new UKVI policy.
