Hello everyone,
I am starting in the NICU tomorrow. I had a great template for the adult ICU but I am not trans to NICU and want to build a template that better fits this area of nursing.
What are key questions to ask during end of shift report that would fit well in a Shift Report Brain sheet?
I want to base mine more towards the NICU area as less towards adult ICU. I will have room for vitals, patients weight, medications, IV access ext. What else would you add to your shift report. What are key questions to ask when getting shift report? What do you make sure to tell the nurse coming on to take your babies? Ill post my template when I finish it here.

If you contact the user Boraz on here he or she had one that they were sending to people. There may actually even be a link somewhere in one of the threads, so I would look at the last 3-4 pages of them to see. I think it was labeled "NICU BRAIN".

We have a Social/Family section on our Brain as well. Parents' names, how many other children they have (can sometimes clue you in to how much baby care teaching you need to do/how comfortable they'll be with diaper changes, bottling, bathing, etc.), any "issues" you need to know about (dad isn't involved, CPS is involved, parents never come to the hospital or aren't attentive and involved when they do come, hospital social work is heavily involved, etc.)
