i took my test last january 09. and really empathizes with that feeling as to how everyone felt that nerve-racking experience after taking the test..the anticipation for the result was crazy..
at first i was very positive and got actually excited..days passed by im beginning to be anxious..and the moment i got the answer..it was horrible. first line: we regret to inform you that you did not pass the test..that whole night i was crying.."a time to mourn" indeed yet the next day i woke myself up saying time to move on..and they are right..this is just a trial..now im writing this thread hoping someone would give me pieces of advise as to how to start preparing for my next test, this time as a re-taker.
previously, i was just on a "self-study mode" basically with the help of my saunders book and cd plus the free reviews, practice questions and recorded seminars i found online..this time im thinking to seek help from a review center..like attend class or whatever..can somebody recommend some reliable ones pls? i also want to know if saunders is really the best study guide or if there are other more effecient ones out there? coz honestly i found the practice questions in saunders pretty easy to undertsand especially when you get used to them..yet i'm not sure if it was a great help at all while im taking my exam..coz i got really confused and somehow their style is different and well obviously i failed..yet i know the blamed should not be on the study guide alone..im really at lost right now how to start all over, especially when it comes to what manner of studying techniques would i use to be better this time...so yeah, aside from praying and not stop trusting God, what's the next step after i fail my nclex? i hope joining this site will also help me...thank you so much for your time.God bless.

yup, i failed too, even after i took kaplan. i can't say that kaplan helped me all that much... i was an ok student, B+ average so i'm at a loss also as to where to even start.
everything seems a lil bit normal now..and im sticking to suzanne's plan also..im just so grateful for the strength God is giving me...^_^

That's the attitude. Get back up and start over. There is light at the end of the tunnel and from other testimonial about Suzanne's plan, it seems to be very successful; if you are using it like you're supposed to then you will succeed the 2nd time around. Good luck.
thanks for the encouragement!^_^

i failed my nclex too. i took mine last jan30 and i felt the same way. at first im confident that i did my best and prayed a lot.i know its not enough but i still trust GOD. i grieved for a night and cried. but the next morning i said sorry to my family and stood up. that day i don't know where or how to start again. right now, im thinking of reviewing all by myself online.i went to HURST review for a week and its not enough.
im also asking for advices regarding for reapplication and review.best luck to us.we must be more dedicated and we will succeed in God's will.

WELL GUYS I'VE GOT YOU ALL BEAT, I HAVE BEEN A WORKING LPN FOR 18 YRS. WENT TO JTCC IN CHESTERFIELD, VA AND GRAD. JAN. 2006. TOOK EXAM FEB 265 QUESTIONS AND DID NOT PASS. TOOK KAPLAN AND DON'T AGREE WITH THERE STRAG. YOU CAN NOT ANSWER ALL QUESTIONS WITH A IMPLEMENTATON OR ASSESSMENT ANSWER. LET A LOT OF OTHER THINGS, FAMILY,WORK,PLAY GET IN THE WAY AND PUT OFF TAKING IT UNTIL AUG 2007 AND FAILED. NOW YOU GUESSED IT I WAS COMPLETLY BUMBED LOST ALL CONFIDENCE AND KEPT PUTTING IT OFF, I KNEW IF I COULDN'T PASS IT THOSE TIMES I AM REALLY MISSING SOMETHING. HAVE BOUGHT LOTS AND LOTS OF BOOKS AND LET THEM SET. NOW I' SCARED TO DEATH AND AFRAID TO BE DISAPPOINTED AGAIN BUT AM ALSO TIRED OF SEEING OTHERS PASS AND EVEN SOME WHOM I WORK WITH AS AIDS HAVE COME BACK AS RNS. THEY ARE ENCOURAGING FOR ME TO RETAKE THEY SAY "OH YOU ARE A GOOD NURSE JUST GO TAKE IT" WELL I MAY BE A GOOD NURSE BUT THAT REALLY DOESN'T HELP ANSWER THOSE TYPE OF QUESTIONS. I REALLY HAVE A PROBLEM WITH THE DELAGATING ONES. SO AS I SAY I FEEL YOUR PAIN. THE END RESULT IS I HAVE FAITH AND TRUTHFULLY KNOW I CAN DO ALL THINGS THRU CHRIST, HOWEVER I HAVE TO BE THE ONE TO MAKE MY SELF SIT DOWN AND CONFRONT THOSE BOOKS AGAIN.
ohh.. u really beat us and very encouraging. they said that in nclex world you dont have to know everything because they're expecting that we are all new nurses.so we dont have buy all nclex books or reviewer. its how you deal with the questions. as long as you have faith in yourself and to God alone you will succeed. maybe being a good LPN is your passion and that's what God put you in. he knows that you're good in that...and you're right we are the one to make the nclex pass and be proud! god bless our studies and nclex in the future again...:nuke:

moseshopper - you mentioned you have a lot of study guides, but for delegation practice/questions try prioritization, delegation & assignment: practice exercises for medical-surgical nursing by linda lacharity, candice kumagai, barbara bartz. i bought this book after reading a lot recommendations here on the site. do a search for it under topics and read the input for yourself.
i will try Prioritization, Delegation & Assignment: Practice Exercises for Medical-Surgical Nursing by Linda Lacharity, Candice Kumagai, Barbara Bartz too.
it was also recommended by a friend who already passed. thanks.

i too failed i just took the exam last week. i approached it all wrong.. i rushed in and thought i learned everything i needed to learn and studied for 2 weeks only. i thought i would be ok considering i just graduated and my school is pretty tough in preparing us for nclex and we were required to take and pass 3 exit hesi's and hand in review questions with a passing grade each week. everyone said once u graduated you made it thats the hard part. well, i have a new respect for nclex that was by far the hardest exam i have ever taken and i never ever experienced an exam like that before. all of my questions were basically prioritizing and infection control like which patient would i put in a private room or have a roomate. the second time around i plan on reviewing the whole saunders book and all systems. im just depserate at this point.. but i'm not gonna give up.
