new here

Hello

I'm new here.

I feel a little down and i don't want to talk to my family about this decision that i made (to change careers) until i am accepted. I am a mother of two and have to work f/t while in the program(if i get in). I am very motivated and determined; my husband is really great and supportive as while, so i can do this.

I have a BA in a different field, But i now have enough motivation to persue my dream of becoming a nurse. i took the Teas exam(i scored i bear min). I have already taken the exam twice and thats the max for the year. i have not taken, A&P, micro, and physics but i have taken 1 chem and 1 bio. I aced the reading and math sections did okay on the english but boomed:banghead: the science. The school that i am applying for is on a point system an i feel that i may have enough points to quailty but this is a very competive career. i pray that get in. I can do it, i just need a chance to prove myself. i should know if i got in on not, within two to three weeks.

Good luck to you. Glad to hear that you have hubby's support!

Hello

I am glad you found this forum it has been a huge help to me. I understand not wanting to talk to your family before you know if you are accepted.

It sounds like you are very dedicated to becoming a nurse. If for some reason you don't get in this year don't give up on your dream, try again next year. Study the science portions that you did not do well on, retake the test, and raise your scores.

Having the support of your husband is a huge bonus!

Good luck!

Are U N Nursing School Now, Memories?

Nope, not in nursing school yet. I am finishing up my pre-reqs. I have my biology classes left to go. Hopefully I will be applying spring of next year. :)

This Is Great, This Is Like A Family.

Hi VERY,

I want to wish you good luck as well! I can relate to you not wanting to tell your parents, I was in the same boat for awhile. I just recently decided to go back and apply to a private nursing school costing $25,000 because I cannot wait since all the other schools are severely impacted. I did not want to take out a loan because I ultimately would love to buy a home some day. I dreaded asking my parents if they would pay for my tuition and after a long talk and some bickering, they finally gave in and said they would cover the costs. I cried so hard, but it gave me that much more confidence that I could do it, and fulfill my dream of becoming a great nurse!

Hope that everything works out for you :D
