I was hired yesterday on our Cardiac floor. Am really looking forward to orientation .............any words of advice or must read book titles would be appreciated.

Congrats on the new position.
Just take it one day at a time. My biggest obstacle was learning to read EKG strips and the cardiac drugs. But one day at a time and you will do fine.

I suggest a course in basic dysrhythmias and an ECG course. Also, be sure to get ACLS.

Good Luck In Your New Position. My Advice, Know Your Basics Fisrt. Learn What Is Normal And Then You Will Always Know When Something Is "not Normal".
