New position

Hey guys and ladies,

I am taking a position with a new company and it is med Surg but committing one year to a position that they will not let you see the floor. would anyone else be concerned. all of this is due to covid

I would not be concerned about not seeing the unit, after all how bad could it appear. I would be more concerned about issues that were personally pertinent to me (you) like nurse/pt ratio, covid pts, mandatory ot, sick/vac time, retirement etc. Also, what is states in your contract r/t the 1 yr commitment.

Congrats and good luck!!

Yes, I would be concerned. That would make sense in the earlier stages of negotiation, but if you're ready to sign on, it's way overboard.

Just to clarify: You are going to sign a contract for 1 year? And they will not give you a tour of the proposed nursing floor/unit before you do so?

Or do you (also) mean that you don't actually know what floor you will be working?

I would be concerned too since you'd be working there soon anyways?
