Estrella is getting ready for their new RN program. They are building a brand new building next to the skill ctr. Just wanted to let some of you know this who are ready to put your apps in or on the waiting list. Looks like there will be more spots in the MCC program next fall.
I just finished Block 1 of the MCC program at the Skill ctr today. I have to say it was not that bad. Sure it's a lot of studying, and waking up at the crack of dawn for clinical sucks, but it was doable. This is coming from a mom of two little boys, I was able to juggle it all, and my husband works FT during the week. We get a 2 week break now before blk 2 starts and I'm going to be doing some much needed resting and working more hrs for some extra cash.

That's great news for those who've been waiting for the CNA to go away.

The other week we had the Dean of Rio Salado come out to talk and she says Rio will be ramping up their nursing enrollment #s.

Kabin, do you know when Rio will be increasing their numbers? The reason I'm asking is that they are only accepting 20 new students for spring '06, and 10 of those slots are for employees. I would really like to get into Rio, but it's not looking good since there aren't many slots available. TIA

Hi Calzonan,
Sorry, I don't recall the details. Her name is Anne McNamara and she was very nice. I'm sure she wouldn't mind if you were to email the question. I think she's also a VP in the AZ Nursing Association. If you google her name and Rio Salado you can find her Rio email address.
Thanks Kabin, will do.
I'm glad to hear that about rio. Calzonan, if you hear any info from her, pls post it here! :) I would love to do Rio for blks 3 and 4. I think the wait for LPN there is 1-2 semesters also. So discouraging!
