New grad.

Hello friends, I just passed my exit hesi exam yesterday. I want to know if I can start applying for jobs before I sit for NCLEX or I will have to wait until I get my license?

Yes, you can start applying.

Absolutely! You could have started months ago. Most people in my cohort had jobs about two months prior to graduation.

Do you mind explaining what you did to study I took mine yesterday and failed. I don't even know where or what to study anymore!

I am So sorry to hear that. I did may be one thousand questions from saunders online.Ob was one of the weekest area for me so I reviewed the content from hesi nclex book(green cover).I also did all the chapters(no case studies) from La charity I Got 997 on my hesi. I Used to do 100 questions online without taking a break this way a built up my stamina to stay focused. I was only getting 60s in my practice from saunders. So do not be discouraged if you do not score that high. One more thing I wrote the rationals for the questions that I got wrong in a note book and read it a few times. Good luck you will do good on the next hesi.

Thank you so much!!!

You can start applying at any time, but a job offer will be contingent upon passing NCLEX. Get that resume out there, I had my new grad job offer 2 months before graduation.

It all depends on where you are and who is hiring. Where I am, only the residency programs will even look at an application prelicensure. You can apply, but don't be surprised if you don't hear back

I am taking the NCLEX on June 2nd and have already accepted an ICU job. Apply to nurse residency programs. They will hire you contingent upon you passing the NCLEX. I have to pass by June 23rd and start my job on July 13th.
