New entry-level Masters program at U of A!!

Hi all,

In the last week, U of AZ has posted a change to their programs. They have dropped their 2nd degree BSN and have added a mepn program (master's entry to the profession of nursing (mepn) pathway). This is available to those who already have a non-nursing bachelor's degree.

I called to get more info. They said tuition would probably run between 35-45k(depends on residency status). They will start having info sessions on the new program starting at the end of this month.

:yeah:

So who all ended up applying for the program? I don't think I am going to be able to sleep until I get a reply.

I applied for this program...I have read through these messages and see that there are definitely mixed feelings about it, but I figure if I make it to the interview stage I can decide for myself. The program is new so there are bound to kinks to work out, but who knows, it might be awesome!

Got selected for the interview, freaking out right now ! Who else is going to be there ?

I just got my email too! Congratulations to you! What time is your interview?

Congrats Jacoba:yeah: My interview is the 19th at 8:30. When is yours ? Can you believe there are only 9 sponsorship positions total. Oh, well i opted self pay. Sooo nervous.

I am going in at 8:30am too! I selected self-pay - it actually surprises me that there are any hospital positions available. I'll see you there!

Just got my e-mail too! 12:30pm on Saturday. So is it true that the interviews are done in a group setting? Should be interesting.

Looks like group interviews... I have one at 12:30 too.

Dalsor which option did you apply for?

congratulations, guys! My interview is on Feb. 19th, at 11:45am. So do you guys know how many applicants got invited to the interview?

Congrats everyone:yeah:, I dont know how many will be interviewed, they seem tight lipped about that. I was told though that they received close to 300 applications. That's crazy! Is there anyone from out of state on here ? I will be flying or driving not sure yet from northern NV.

Jen- I applied for self pay, but sponsored as a second choice. I definitely wouldn't mind being sponsored, but there aren't many spots :/

i chose sponsored as 1st choice and self-paid as 2nd choice. so what are your guys's gpa? the con advisor says high gpa with a bad interview performance may lead to not getting admitted. i am so nervous now. i have a 4.0 for prerequisites and 3.55 for my 4 year undergraduate.
