New entry-level Masters program at U of A!!

Hi all,

In the last week, U of AZ has posted a change to their programs. They have dropped their 2nd degree BSN and have added a mepn program (master's entry to the profession of nursing (mepn) pathway). This is available to those who already have a non-nursing bachelor's degree.

I called to get more info. They said tuition would probably run between 35-45k(depends on residency status). They will start having info sessions on the new program starting at the end of this month.

:yeah:

hi everyone, did u guys get any message from UA yet?

No. :( This weekend is going to be so long...

Nope.. Hopefully it will be early next week. Where did you guys get 190 interviewees from? I asked the girl who walked us to the interview and she said there were about 230 interviewing that day.

I counted how many people were on the schedule that was hung up in the meeting room. Also, there was a nursing student at my work that is currently in the ABSN program and her teacher, who was also conducting some of the interviews, said there was around 200 people selected.

Regardless, it has to be tough cutting 50% of the list. I hope for good news next week.:redbeathe

I just got an email that I was put on the wait list. Something happened right before the interview which impacted my performance and I wonder I would have gotten in if it hadn't happened. I guess now I just have to hope people decline their offer of admission.

I'm wait-listed too.

I know a few people got in this years program after being wait-listed so there is still hope.

waitlisted :( my friend got in though.

I got waitlisted as well...I called the college of nursing to see what position and they said they weren't allowed to tell.

did friend that got in tell you when their deadline to accept the offer of admission was?

Kelli, she said Friday. which gives me some hope.

I hope that a lot of people will not accept since there are only 9 sponsorship spots, the programs price tag went up significantly, the letters came out long after many other schools, and there is less than a week to accept. I was also told that they don't have any more alternates then they expect there will be open spots by May.

So lets keep positive and hope for good news!

Jacoba, how did you hear about the number of alternates? I couldn't seem to get information about the number of spots. Thanks!
