This is kind of silly, but definitely new - just saw something today about "cell phone elbow". Might be a fun one to present if it's not graded.

Specializes in Pediatrics.

I know it's not considered 'new' but I think the area of antibiotic resistant bacteria (MRSA, VRE etc.) is likely to become an even bigger problem than it already is in our near future. I would do some reasearch on even newer bacteria that is starting to become resistant. I have always found intrest in this type of stuff (esp. since I work on an infectious disease floor). Good luck to you!

to bagladyrn i love it thank you so much i googled it and got good info and a pic so awesome again thank you so much

What about the new virus in Africa? It is in the same family as the Ebola virus.

Google Lujo virus

I was going to suggest that one too. Lujo is apparently something like Ebola's bigger, badder cousin - very scary and neat reading.

The cell phone elbow idea is interesting, but it's not a disease, it's a syndrome.
