Hello. I was excited about a career change....Loved returning to school. But, I am getting discouraged to find that the waiting lists for entrance to nursing schools are so long. I am too old to wait 3 years. Does anyone know how to simply find out how long each schools wait lists are? Is there a data base that makes that simple? I am in San Jose, Ca, and have done my A&P, micro, english 1a, gen psych. I am also up there in age already. Is there any releif in sight?:rotfl: I'm gettin old out here! Help!

take any clases that are available and keep on any list that you can get on...don't let age deter you...

I don't know of any data base that will tell you find the info you desire. Some states offer more immediate enrollment than you have where you are. You might want to consider this and look into other states for your nursing oppportunity. Words of wisdom: get your Rn...BSN preferred.

How are the Practical Nursing (or Vocational Nursing) waiting lists in your area? Many people around here take the LPN program first since the waiting lists are usually just a few months. Then they just go to an LPN to RN bridge program since those programs rarely have a waiting list. You might find that you will be done faster that way than if you had just waited out the 3 year waiting list in the first place. Just a thought.
