Well I haven't been in trouble in about 8 years! When I came home I worked odd jobs and then I decided to get into the healthcare field so I waited for about 3 years and went and challenged the CNA test, so I passed and I had to go in front of the board and they said that I demonstrated clear and convincing evidence that I will not be a danger okay so they sent my CNA license out so I have been doing this for a while but I let them know that I wanted to go further in nursing but as a single mother with 3 kids I must start from the bottom so I decided to go back to school to do LPN, i went and took the test and did all finicial information and turned in everything and I did get excepted and is schduled to start on September 21,2009 all accept a new law came out on July 1, 2009 and the schools are just finding out about it and the law states that if you had been convicted of an felony and it is not 15 years old they will not let you sit and take the state board ! I really need advice about this because I have not been trouble in about 8 years I have Clemency and and excemption though the bord of nursing ! I called and spoke to them in Tallahsee about this and is not getting anywhere. My exception paperwork states that the exception is for CNC, LPN, or RN an d it states that I am clear to work in the healthcare field now they are tring to say something different and it says that if I get a new charge that I would have to get a new exception which I did not! The Clemency letter states that the state of Florida is to forgive me for any and every felony that I have ever convicted except for holding a firearm. Could someone please give me some quick advice because I would love to be in that class on September 21, the school is saying they do not want me to go though the program and can not sit and take the test. I thought that if a new rule or law comes out it affects the ones that is just coming in someone told me that they always make laws and do not clarify them and people want to use them the way they want it to be can someone help me quick!

No one here is going to be able to give you advice, unfortunately. You need to find an attorney who specializes in dealing with the BON and get an interpretation of your paperwork. Good luck to you.

What was your felony? Sometimes, it depends on the nature of the offense.

I am really sorry we are not able to give legal advice on the site.
You would need to ask the board of nursing and an attorney
Good Luck
