Needing advice First Assignment WA

I'm a Canadian RN with ER as my specialty and I'm currently deciding if I should accept the offer. My documentation is ready and I'm only waiting for a job offer so I can get a TN status.

I recently got an offer for a 13 week contract in a small town just 1 hour away from where I live in Canada. The site is in WA state. I like the hospital and the pay is reasonable. I'm just not sure with the location. I'm a little worried I'll be bored there. It is however just one hour drive from Seattle too. Unfortunately I don't have a car. I have till Monday to decide if I should turn down the offer and wait until some hospital in Seattle offers me a contract. I would ideally want Seattle but I'm not sure if it's too difficult to get a job offer for a first time traveler like myself.

Any advice from anyone who may have similar experience?

I guess my question is, would you pick a hospital you like in a location you don't really like just to get the first experience?

Thanks guys.

Sure! Getting a successful first assignment on your work history is key to better choices later. This will give you time to get acclimated with the US legal system and documentation before going too far from home.

Also, you need the money to buy a car. Got to have some way to transport the bicycle and skateboard!

Haha thank you NedRN. I'm definitely considering taking the assignment now. I have all day tomorrow to think through this. I was hoping I can get away of not getting a car by working in a site in the city. I might just rent a car if I take this assignment so I can go somewhere on my days off. It'll probably also gives me time to study for CEN.

Just buy something cheap. I picked up an old truck for my son for $800 that runs great.
