need a new study plan, any suggestions??

Published

good afternoon all,

I unfortunately found out that i did not pass the Nclex-PN, im giving myself a few days of break but i am starting to put together in my head a new study plan. Last time i used my HESI book and Saunders Q+A's. Yesterday i purchased Saunders Comprehension edition 4, Linda LaCharity Delegation, Prioritization, and Kaplan Test Strategies. I am thinking about reading kaplan first, while doing 50 questions a day, after reading kaplan start doing 100-150 a day. I also thought about doing the NCSBN 3 wk program if i have time... any suggestions for a study plan using those books???

Don't use too many resources as it can get a bit over powering. Concentrate on one or two resources and practice questions. Make sure to read the rationale and if you can have protected study time and ask that people do not disturb you during that time. Whilst I was studying my dh took care if anyone called or the dogs needed seeing to. I did 2 hours a day when I was working and 4 hours when I wasn't. Also found myself time to relax and not think about the exam

I agree w silverdragon , one source only . I made it with NCSBN learningext. with content . it is short ang straightforward, organized as the exam . do questions only on other sources . study hard . pray hard. GodBless

First of all, I'm sorry to hear that you didn't pass your exam. I too didn't passed. And I know it must be totaly devastating, I know you feel. Coz I'm in the same boat as you are. But never give up my friend. Let's study again, and take the challenge and passing this test. If the others can, then so can we, Right? Sounds like you've already mapped out your study plan. And it seems like you have enough references to use. I too just started organizing my new study plan. I'll be using my nclex exam cram cds to practice questions and so as the prentice hall's nclex-rn book with cd (both references are from pearson copyright), and I just purchased the ncsbn 3wk course and it has been sweet for me, I mean it totally opens up my mind of where I stand. I will also us la charity's PD&A book. I do have saunder's that was the only book I used for studying for my previous exams, however, I do believe I needed to use other references to aid me with my study. So I'll still be using it for reference every now and then, but that is after I'm done with the new materials I just purchased. We will both study hard my friend, and nver give up. Stay positive I know one day we will pass!
