Are you sure that your instructor wants you to request interviews from an anonymous message board rather than practice you in person interview skills? Remember this is an anonymous board in as much as people can pretend to be anyone they want (not that it is ethical) and thus skew your assignment results

Suggestions: You can try calling your local hospitals staff development/nursing education department for a willing interviewee. Or a local ALF, LTC, or clinic to find a DoN. It's difficult but not impossible. If you work in a facility it might be easier to secure n interview with a staff nurse as I see that assignment being the most difficult to obtain. Good luck, remember there are specific skills utilized when interviewing someone in person or on the phone that cannot be utilized in an online interview such as tone of voice, asking follow up questions, and developing rapport.

Also, not everyone has the capability of opening a .docx document Perhaps consider changing the document to a .doc or .pdf for ease.

"this interview is to be conducted in person or over the phone. persons being interviewed are not expected to respond in writing."

the assignment specifically states the above. maybe it would be better to follow the assignment's instructions. i agree with justbeachynurse that you really don't know who you are talking to on these boards. i wish you the best.

As the paper clearly stated, I am not asking for someone to just fill in the questionnaire and send it back, it is there so they have an idea of what questions will be asked. If someone feels that they can help with the interview process then I would give them my number to contact me for the phone interview or vice versa. As for your first question my instructor also recommended face book. Sometimes if you don't understand something you should ask questions before you decide to jump down someone's throats, and as for your recommendation in your first response, I am already doing that, seeing as you never know the responses you get on an anonymous board.

Angela, you posted a request for interviews in an anonymous online forum. You did not mention providing contact information or a phone number. Instead, you included a link to the questionnaire. Perhaps you should simply clarify your position rather than lashing out against those who attempt to give you advice.

You're relatively new here, while the posters who responded to you frequent the nursing student forums here. We have seen literally hundreds of posts from other students that are just like yours. They want to interview someone online to avoid having to schedule an interview and talk in person.

No one jumped down your throat. You received honest and accurate feedback. As you know, it is difficult to express your op and emotions through typing, so don't assume that responses are meant harshly because they aren't what you want to here. As another example, the defensiveness and hostility of your reply does not indicate that you were just misunderstood. Instead, it indicates that you were upset to be caught trying to take a short cut on your assignment. Again, just another example of how typing doesn't clearly indicate the emotions behind our words.
