Although there are more women than men in nursing, it's by no means a profession only for women. You might find a quick read through some threads here, including the Men in Nursing section, useful before deciding to go ahead and apply.

Johny 24, there is certainly a great need for male nurses out there, so don't let misconceptions that may lead you to believe otherwise..follow your heart/ dreams, and you'll never have regrets!:redpinkhe

Go to any hospital or medical facility in your area, find a male nurse, and ask him if you can spend some time shadowing him and talking. He can give you some good insight on becoming a nurse and doing the job of a nurse, from a male's perspective. By all means, if you think this is what you would like to do, go for it. It is a rewarding career for men as well as women.
thats a great idea caliotter3! Hearing it from the horses mouth so to speak can help out, as long as you know that its their experience..and that everyone needs to make their own..one persons madness is anothers dream, lol!
