You won't pass if you are getting yourself that worked up about it. Just try as hard as you can to relax and remember it's not like the world is going to fall in on you if you fail. I think way too many people put way too much pressure on themselves. You passed nursing school right? Nursing school is just preparing you to take the NCLEX. Don't over study or spend too much time questioning yourself on every question. Read each question thoroughly, eliminate the most obvious wrong answers first then use your rationale to think about the remaining answers. You can always take it again if you have to.

Hi. I am also taking my NCLEX-RN on June 10th. It is very nerve wrecking. I think most people find the SATA style questions the most challenging. I know that they are certainly not my favorite. The approach that I like best is looking at each choice as a true/false. For me it really simplifies it when it feels overwhelming. When I start to feel panic coming on about my upcoming date, I like to take a little break or review a topic that I am a little more comfortable with- it helps boost my confidence.

I'm taking the test in 2 days and got almost the same score on sampler 4. I had a minor panic attack about it this morning, but have decided to simply accept what ever happens. Pray (if you believe) and know that the worst case scenario is you fail and have to take it again. It will be horrible and traumatizing (I think), but not the end of the world. Good luck.

Yes i do believe in prayers and thats the only thing that keeps me sane.i am an international graduate and passing this exam would mean a lot to me and my family.yeah i guess i have to accept things as they come and go..to ellie23 Godbless you on your exam..

60's and 70's in the Kaplan q bank is good. You have plenty of time. Take a deep breath. :) According to our Kaplan rep, the goal for the q bank is to complete at least 90% of the q bank questions with 60% accuracy.

I also had chest pain and palpitations before the exam. I took breaks while practicing questions, and deep-breathing exercises and prayers. I'm a very-detailed oriented person, and maybe that made it worse. Your body gives you signals when anxiety is high, so respond by relaxing. Hope you all pass the test.

We had the Kaplan review course after graduation, I had tons of NCLEX apps on my iPod that I would use to quiz myself once in a while. I was absolutely terrified, but I reminded myself that it will be okay. If I pass it's over and I can move on, if I don't pass at least I know what it's like and I'll be better prepared the next time. That took some of the stress and anxiety away. When the test started it was like a foreign language. I had been out of school for 3 years and hadn't been around nursing in any capacity in that time. 125 questions in 2 hours, always between two or three answer choices....it was rough, but I passed. Just remember you know the answers, maybe you didn't cover that specific disease/medication/situation, but you have been taught how to think through many different scenarios. When they say critical thinking is key to passing NCLEX they're not kidding. That's really all it is, your ability to think through the questions. You don't have to know everything about everything. I didn't know most of the things presented in the questions (medications, situations, diseases) but I thought through it, used what I knew to get an idea of what was going on and went from there. You can do this!

I also had a ton of SATA-style questions. They're scary, but I like to think it was a good sign I was getting so many of them. Embrace SATA! ;)

I truly appreciate all your concerns..im really trying my best to calm myself down because i know its really getting into me.maybe its the pressure of passing it thats getting into me ( though nobody is pressuring me ) im actually ok with kaplan its just that i cant seem to get myself over the SATA questions.its either i miss one or im in excess of one answer. I hate it.i have read from here that its not entry level and its quite difficult as well..im really trying my best..im glad to know that there are people here who are suuportive and understands what im going through..

Thankyou all for the encouragement..@chanteurdelamour:how did you find the sata in nclex by the way?comparable to kaplan?thanks...

First thing, breath! The best thing that you can do for yourself is remain calm. Do not tell yourself that you won't pass, instead tell yourself that you WILL pass! If it makes you feel better I didn't get to take my boards till two years after graduating and I passed on my first try. SATA scared me, too! And like you I would always get them wrong. But if you get SATA questions it means you are doing well. Just please try to de-stress. Being this anxious works against you. Think positive thoughts and positive results will come.
