  1. First thing, breath! The best thing that you can do for yourself is remain calm. Do not tell yourself that you won't pass, instead tell yourself that you WILL pass! If it makes you feel better I didn't get to take my boards till two years after graduating and I passed on my first try. SATA scared me, too! And like you I would always get them wrong. But if you get SATA questions it means you are doing well. Just please try to de-stress. Being this anxious works against you. Think positive thoughts and positive results will come.
  2. Hi! I am currently working my first job in a med-surg telemetry floor. To say that I hate it would be an understatement. I am so unhappy in my current position. This is my first position as a RN and I have been doing it for 5 months. I just don't think that hospital work is for me. When I was in school I fell in love with three areas: school nursing, L&D, and psych. Lately I have been thinking a lot about a career in school nursing. But I am scared of what my peers will think of me. I'm afraid that a lot of people don't respect school nursing, but I can't help but think that that is where I will find a fulfilling career. I have a lot of respect for the career and the fact that school nurses are often the only medical resource for parents and children. I've worked with middle school and high school kids in the past and have coordinated many community programs. I really enjoyed coordinating activities and being a person that the kids could come to for resources. Any school nurses out there that can give me advice? Any one out there that started out as a school nurse or went into school nursing early in their career? Please help. Thank you!
