Need help finding job

I have been an LPN for 16 yrs. I've done 1 yr in the nursing home, few years in residential care and 11+ yrs in a physician office. I'm now an RN and need a job. All I can find is the nursing home and I don't want that.

What you will find in many areas is that the job market is becoming saturated with both new grads and experienced nurses. This means that in an employer's market, those hiring can afford to be choosy. It may be necessary that you take a job in a specialty/facility that isn't your first choice in order to get RN experience before transferring to another specialty/facility type. If that's a deal breaker, you may need to consider relocating to an area that is experiencing a nursing shortage. Other than that, I highly recommend joining professional organizations and using the meetings as a networking opportunity- this job market is also a bit more of who you know than what you know when looking for a first RN job.

Have you considered home care. Its not LTC and I know the place I work at takes LPNs and RNs.

Also what about rehab. Again would give you good skills but not exactly LTC

If you feel comfortable sharing, what is your location?
