so ive been looking into brightwood college (Kaplan college) and San Diego city college my first option was brightwood but i saw the cost of the nursing program and how that school was also bad because credits wont be accepted at many schools and universitys since its a private school but i feel like i would also be wasting so many years in city college plus their nursing program only takes so little students and ive known people on waiting list that been there for like a year so can someone tell me how their experience with kaplan was !!!!! or city

I graduated from brightwood in September. I started my BSN program at Point Loma Nazarene University the same day. Brightwood does transfer to quite a few other schools to continue your education.

I also saw they have medical assistant and the program cost is way less than going into nursing right away Can i start with medical assistant and then move up ?

If your ultimate goal is nursing, I would advise against going for MA. Why waste the time?

Hello,

I would highly recommend visiting the campus. In all honesty, I would steer away from for-profit colleges. I was convinced to try it out, because I got rejected from so many schools, and I was highly discouraged. I almost threw myself into a for-profit school. However, I visited a for-profit school and it gave me an eerie feeling-- as in stunned by the cost, and had to PAY $3000 OUT OF POCKET BY THE 2ND MEETING! I knew it wasn't right for me, and my gut told me not to go.

I talked to a nursing professor, and she told me to apply to other universities or community colleges. If you believe a for-profit college is right for you, then do it. I knew some people that went through that process, and they did well. My advise is to really think about it first before you go. Think practically, and do not let time or feelings of discouragement get in the way of your journey. It took me year to finally get accepted into nursing school, and I am more than happy that I waited. Do not give up! And do a lot of research on different programs that would fit for you.

-- And do not do the Medical Assistant program, unless that's something you really want to do. If it's specifically for nursing school, CNA or LVN.

Wow! So happy to hear this because I'm looking to start in March. I will definitely consider this program. Thank you and good luck í ½í±:)

To answer your question yes. However, do you have medical experience? You need either a bachelors, 6 months of medical experience or completed a 6 months medical training program for the ADN. For the LVN you just need to pass the (2) tests for brightwood! If your goal is to be a RN, then I recommend the LVN program (if your looking to spend less). I'm torn between the LVN and ADN program. Good luck!

I NEED HELP!!! Im looking to go to Concorde or Southeastern College but I'm scared because I now they are NOT accredited and I want to attend either FAU, Nova, or etc for my BSN. Im currently withdrew from Broward RN program. TOOOO stressful and they are extremely rude professors (who i low-key think looks to fail you). Yes I know you deal with those types of people throughout your life but my gosh...But I do have my AA from Broward (the pre-req courses) so do you guys think since I'm doing my AS to receive my RN license those RN-BSN programs will accept my credits??

Did you end up going to Brightwood College? If so can you give me some information about their nursing program?
