2nd quarter student should i start preparing for the nclex now or wait

The great thing about NCLEX books is that if you use them along with your studies it can help you in your classes now in addition to helping you with NCLEX later. It has been my experience that professors often pull exam questions from nclex books. Use them, it can only help you digest the material and start to think of things in the way nclex will want you to.

I started using the book in 2nd semester also and it was definitely a HUGE help. Do it!

YES! YES! YES! By all means study your NCLEX book along with your classes!! I read my NCLEX book along with my classes and it helped me tremendously! I know it sounds difficult to squeeze in any more study time, since all you do is study right now anyway, but what I did was, I left my NCLEX book on the loveseat in my living room and periodically throughout the day and evening I'd sit down for 5 or 10 minutes and read, hilite, answer questions... I read the chapters that corresponded to the material we were covering in class. It only took a few minutes each day and really was painless. But you wouldn't believe what a help it was. Also, when you answer the questions make sure you read the rationales the book offers... this will really help you with test taking. Our teachers kept stressing to us to read our NCLEX books as we went along and there were only a few of us who did... when we took the ATI, I and only 4 other students in the class passed it! Guess what... a couple of the students who passed weren't even at the top of the class as far as GPA goes, but they had studied their NCLEX books along the way. Those comprehensive exit exams (and the NCLEX itself) are incredibly difficult tests. Start preparing now!
