NCLEX review programs, any comparisons?

I just took the HURST review. I am sure that all NCLEX review programs claim that they are the best. HURST states that their students have a 98% pass rate, sounds darn good to me. They said that Kaplan was not as good because all that does is give you a bunch of NCLEX review questions and does not help actually study for the exam; that just studying a whole bunch of review questions is not enough. Has anyone taken HURST review as well as other NCLEX review programs like Kaplan and Saunder? Any comparisons?

i took the exam last may '08. i used kaplan. they have a good program. but unfortunately, i did not pass nclex for the 1st time. i did their Qtrainer, Qbank, watched the videos, attended classes. my friends also used kaplan, many of them passed for the 1st time. some did not. they said answering questions really helped them.

now, i'm studying again and using kaplan, prioritization, delegation & assignment book by linda lacharity.

good luck!

I haven't heard of this review, but I also took the Kaplan course. I just took my NCLEX and found out I didn't pass:cry:. Some of my friends who took this course passed the 1st time around and some didn't. I found it useful b/c they did give you a bunch of review questions, but they reviewed no content material. So I guess it's just deciding what you need.

Right now I am looking for a different way to study. How was the review that you took????

I liked it, the teacher was great and gave lots of study tips. the class comes with a book that you fill in answers as the class goes on so you are actively participating. I thought it was good but was hoping some one had taken it as well as another review that could give some comparison insight, I want to do the best I can to study for the NCLEX...NOONE wants to take it more than once....I think i would just die!:urgycld:

Hi! I took the Nclex in July 2008 and passed w/75Q. My advise is that I really believe that taking a Nclex class really helps. My class was 8 sessions of 3 hours of studying various topics and answering questions. My teacher prepared us on how to tackle the questions which is similar to the Kaplan & Mosby's book-which were also great study tools. Practice questions everyday and read the rationals. We had to do like 300 before the next class which was 2 days later. Other than that, get a good night sleep and remember- it's not a race. Take your time and eliminate what the answer can't be. Good Luck, I know what you are going thru!:nurse:
