I know that Saunders review is high-rated, but it seems that there's not enough information in it to really prepare one for the NCLEX. Any thoughts?

Welcome to the site. Can't recall seeing any criticism of Saunders, it generates favorable comments usually. No single review book could be expected to cover everything. They are designed to review the fundamentals necessary to be able to show sufficient knowledge to pass the test. Good luck with your NCLEX. You can find threads concerning the NCLEX in the NCLEX forum.

I actually preferred Saunders to other resources as I also liked learningext.com

I have used Saunders book and took the Kaplan course...by far, I gained more from Saunders than Kaplan just because Saunders fit into my studying style better than Kaplan....classes and books....good luck to you!!

I have the saunders book but decided not to use it as much. I started using the Hogan book. I love that book and the format. There is not enough questions compared to the Saunders book. The Kaplan and Hogan book help me pass. I passed the NCLEX with 75 questions, 10 SATA, 15 meds no med calc and no ob questions.
i hope you find a good book that works for you.

xj3nnerz, where can i buy the Saunders & Hogan book and which editions are they or were they online?
I got the book from my aunty. She passed the NCLEX-PN with the PN version and said the RN version should not be any different. She bought it for me from Borders before I graduated, but I am sure you can buy it on Amazon for cheaper. Just make sure that it has the CD.
Sorry but the RN book is different. Don't forget the PN and RN are different and have different scopes. If taking the RN exam then better to use the RN resources
