NCLEX preparation...

You should schedule your exam as soon as possible since when the ATT expires you will be at a disadvantage .Remember there is no refund for expired ATT.If you try to schedule a test you will also notice there are limited dates and time available.Lucky you i have waited 10 months for my ATT.I have friends still waiting more than 10 months in my country.I am scheduled for January 24 in Puerto Rico.We are international nurses(St Vincent)

Yes, I know my last two years of school were preparation. I received my ATT today and, with the holidays, I haven't cracked a book since pinning. My ATT is good for 3 months. (Expires 03/28/07) How many weeks preparation should I allow for prior to my scheduled test date? I am trying to choose a test date now and I just have no clue how far away to schedule it........

I think much better if you start reviewing now since you have ur ATT already rather than cram.At least you still have enough time and make use of the 3 months wisely so u'll get it on your first try.Goodluck to you

I scheduled last night. 6 weeks away. Nursing school has been preparing us all along for NCLEX. We were required to complete 4,000 practice questions in our last semester. I think 6 weeks is enough to do a review like Hurst or similar. Does anyone have any thoughts about the Hurst online review? I can't take the live review as I won't have any money until after the class. Hurst Review

I think how long to prepare is individual. How were your study habits during school? Do you feel you retained the information you learned? Did your instructors test you with NCLEX type questions? Did you take an exit HESI, if so how did you do? How are your test taking skills?

I think people who follow Suzanne's 6 week plan are very successful.

I was going to do Suzanne's plan, but I had this need to take my NCLEX as soon as possible and be done with it. I asked myself all the questions I asked you and decided that I would go for it. I studied Kaplan's strategies and Saunder's Comprehensive Review. I studied a little over 2 weeks and passed with 75. We graduated November 18 and over half of my class has taken/passed the NCLEX.

Suzanne's plan is 6 weeks? That's perfect. I already have the Saunder's .... somewhere. :uhoh21: Yes, our instructors used NCLEX-style questioning. Much to the chagrin of many of my classmates and at times myself. We took HESI exams throughout school. I've never scored below a 900 on one. Most of mine have been in the 1050-1175 range. The HESI exit exam, on which I scored 1057, showed my weakest areas to be Assessment and Psych. Our Assessment instructor was retiring that semester. Our Assessment score was based on a CBL that allowed you to watch a video, review the questions (identical and in the same order as the test) and then take a test. She made our score on that assignment count for 100% of our final grade. Of course, we all passed that class with an A. Psych, well, I just can't stand Psych. So I know I need to "get over it" and review it. I was one of those who breezed through high school and always made As. In nursing school, I struggled to maintain Cs because I never developed good study habits in high school. Even in nursing school, I've breezed through "standardized" exams like the HESIs we've taken throughout. I think I probably need the 6 weeks prep time.

Suzanne's program is a full six weeks after the review or first tip is completed. If you have scheduled for six weeks from now, it will not work for you.

It's actually a little over 6.5 weeks from now. I thought about scheduling for 7 weeks, but I decided that I would want my QuickResults and wasn't certain how the weekend would affect those.

Again, the first tip must be completed exactly as it is posted............the remainder never gets sent until that is done. Some complete it in a fwe days, others take weeks for it. Then there is the issue of having it done before the next mailing goes out.

Quick Results are not affected by weekend or holidat, if your state permits it, the results are up on Pearson-Vue 48 hours after you test, no earlier. But no later, either.

Hi, I REALLY NEED HELP!!! PLZZ.....I am taking my nclexPN on the 26th feb08 I didn't get chance I just feel like I don't know anything...I passed ATI with 90% you all might okay then you must know something but belive I guessed alot too so i guess my guess went well....right I am confused how and where should I study from. I mean it is better if just study the questions with rationals from saunders or I should read the whole book?? I also bought 3 weeks from NCSBN so right now thats what I am doing...do u guys think that if I just study NCSBN 3 weeks and do their questions over n over again I will be okay??? I am very sorry for being very lost and asking you guys all these silly questions. I had a death in the family so I just didn't get chance to study. Now Nclex is here....PLEASE HELP ME...any suggestions are very welcomed!!! thanks to u all..
