I talked to my mother this weekend and she told me that she is praying for me to pass the nclex. She also mentioned that her pastor and her friends at church are praying for me to pass the nclex as well. I am not a religious person, I am an atheist. However, I am overwhelmed by the support my mother and her church has given me.
I am assumming that emotional support plays a major role in helping a person get through difficult times in their lives. I feel so much support from my mother and friends and family that I believe that I will pass the NCLEX.
So I ask many of you who are religious to pray for me, the atheist who really doesn't believe in god but believe's that prayers gives me the strength to continue on and pass the NCLEX.
Who know maybe when I pass, I will see the light and believe and have faith. But is it ok to start believing in god only after something good happens...I feel like it is not right.
Thank you.

hey, I feel the same way you do. so many people tell me that they are praying that god gives me the strength to pass. I too am starting to believe.. So I will pray for you. This exam is just so odd that praying seems to be one of the few things that can keep me sane.

I'm sure prayer helps and I recommend prayer no matter what situation one is in...although one can pray and pray and still fail the exam so I believe the reason behind a failing test is a good one...it's in God's will for a reason at that given time one didn't pass.

I will be praying for you! And, yes, prayers DO work! We may not always get the answers that WE want - but in due time we will know the reason for that. While I respect your believes, I do know that it always the RIGHT time to start believing in God!
Good Luck and God Bless!

My prayers are with you. Prayers DO work. The Sunday before I took my Nclex I asked my Pastor to pray for me, then his wife did, then another lady at my church, then 2 RNs at my church. People at my work were praying for me. The RN who prayed for me at church asked God to give me the minimum 75 questions and to open my mind of all the knowledge I haved learned to take the exam. And I had 75 questions and passed! I KNOW it was God!
I will pray for God to open your mind as well, to give you good critical thinking judgement, and to guide you in to correctly answering the ones you may have no idea on.
You CAN do it!
I did, and I had at least 10 SATA and drugs I had never heard of before in my life. I had to have someone watching over me!
Oh and this was my second time taking the Nclex. God had a reason for me to take it twice and I did not doubt that I would pass this second time!
I will be praying for you!!!
