I moved from Fl. to NC & appllied for reciprocity here several months ago. Filled out the necessary forms, sent the money, got fingerprinted...believe it or not because the police officer put br for eye color instead of bro (brown) the board returned the fingerprint card for correction. I sent it back with another $38.00 approximately one month ago & still have not received my license. How long does it generally take? This is frustrating & a bit aggravating to say the least. Thanks all! :angryfire

I think it is less than three weeks for a temp license.
Thanks so much for your reply! Recently my fingerprints were returned to me once again because of "indistinct margins". So, once again they are being sent out to the board .

I had to be printed 4 times. The last time the local police depart. called for a specialist from the State Highway Patrol. Maybe you can you ask if there is someone in the department that deals with special "situations"?????
thanks so much for your reply. as a matter of fact, the deputy tried 3 times & then called the lieutenant in. he was able to get more defined prints, but advised me that if they were not acceptable by "the board" i will probably have to go downtown (charlotte) and have them redone on a computer. the lieutenant also said that they are very "picky" since 911.....understandably so, but i would really like to rap this up as it is taking several months so far. thanks again.
