NBCSN Prep

On the website it mentions the certification review book by Selekman.  Is this just referring to the text "School Nursing A Comprehensive Text" by Selekman, or is the review book something separate?  I already have the text and do not want to purchase it twice.

I purchased the review book in electronic form; It is specifically review for certification, built in an outline format with review questions, and is not a textbook. I think the Comprehensive Text is likely much more detailed.

Same book, may be an update to what you have?

Here are my thoughts: I read and annotated chapters, which somewhat helped.

What NCSN really needed when I took the exam was a good multi-question test exam with rationale and/or a specific study guidance. I had none of that (but managed to pass anyway in 2015!)

This test was about what we "should" be doing perfectly in the school nurse world (not what we really are doing). There were a bunch of environmental questions on my test. Never have I ever attempted to ascertain air quality in my building. I let teachers know when it's a level Yellow or Orange pollution day (kids shouldn't be outside for too long on those days) and move on.

Best of luck!!

I put Gold Bond Powder in my kids sneakers if they take them off for ht/wt or for a twisted ankle assessment. That's about all I do for air quality...
