NAU Accelerated BSN Program 2016

Hi all -

I didn't see a thread for this program for the upcoming summer 2016 start date, so I thought I would start one. Please let me know if there is already a thread on this and I will have this deleted.

Who else is applying? I know last year was very competitive, so I doubt this year will be any different. I just took the Kaplan Admissions Exam and have finished all my prerequisite coursework, so I'm hoping for the best. Good luck to everyone!

I know. I saw that. Good luck everybody.

THIS WEEK?!

Ok, I wasn't expecting to hear anything til the very end of Feb or maybe even March... so I was doing a good job of putting the anxiety aside for a couple weeks. Now I'm freaking out!!!! Haha. I definitely hope we hear from them that soon! :nailbiting:

Saw this thread on my feed and couldn't help but comment. I'm in the current NAU accel cohort and for those who are stressing about whether they made the cut, here's some facts.

My GPA was 3.72, I scored an 89 overall and 75 on science on Kaplan, and I had all of the prereqs complete. I was accepted right away, as opposed to being put on the waiting list. I had a friend apply who I believe had the same exact GPA, scored an 85 on Kaplan overall and was placed 11th on the waiting list. She got a call two weeks before the program started that there was a spot. So my best advice is be flexible if you are placed on a waiting list!

This is totally not meant to stress some of you out, I just know that I prefer some information over no information! Best of luck to all of you! If you have any questions I would be more than happy to answer.

'mountainsandmangos' thank you! those facts definitely help put things in perspective :) I appreciate it! Let us know if any other thoughts or tips come to mind in the future... and congrats on getting in and being so close to graduation! Hope youre loving it.

Talked to one of the admissions advisors yesterday and was informed that selections are being finalized, and we should expect letters by mid next week.

Did anyone else hear back? I can't believe it but I'M IN!!!

How did you find out? Mail or email? And congrats!

Me too! :) Got the email yesterday. Congrats!

Congrats! I got an email too. I am on the alternative list contingent on completion of pre-reqs.

Ah, yay! Congratulations!

I got an email too that I'm on an alternative list. I'm pretty excited, and now the waiting game begins.

Hi everyone! I found out that I was accepted and I was wondering if anyone has any tips on where to live-preferably a single studio or similar, although a shared area is not completely ruled out due to the cost..commuting is also ok. I am planning a visit soon, but for the time being I have never even been to Flagstaff so I would appreciate any tips!! Congrats to all those who have been accepted, and to those who are on the wait list (best of luck!). Thanks for your help!!
