Name suffix on ATT

Published

Hi there, I've done some searching on the topic to no avail. I hope someone can help me on this.

On my birth certificate, I have a name suffix 'Jr' which I consistently used when I asked permission to my BON to sit for the NCLEX. But the files that they have sent me only contain my Full name without the 'Jr'. Even on my ATT it contains my full name without the 'Jr'.

On my passport, (which is the only accepted form of identification for test sites outside the USA) my complete name is printed with the suffix 'Jr'.

Pearson Vue is strict right? they said the names must match EXACTLY the same on my ATT and on the passport. My ATT has no Jr on it but my passport does.

what should I do?

My NCLEX is a month away, please shed some light.

E-mail or phone your BON regarding the ATT letter and see if they can fax a corrected one.

hey lorodz, no problem!! i had a similar problem with my att but it was with regards to my address. you call pearson and tell them the situation. they're the ones pretty much responsible for address changes, and name. once changes have been made don't forget to ask them to send the new att with the changes they made via email if you want it fast then just print it out. hope this helps. :loveya:

I don't think that it's your BON in charge of editing information.. I did this and waited for awhile..and when I finally got to talk to someone they told me to call Pearsonvue. Anyways Goodluck on getting it taken care of! Don't stress, it's easy to fix. ^_^

I would have thought it would be the BON since they issue the ATT in the first place. I would never have thought Pearsonvue would be the one to make the change. Good info.:D

I know that's what I thot too!! :loveya: I waited forever and the guy who picked up gave me attitude..LOL. Regardless I didn't want to waste the call so I just asked him if he could check my file and see if everything was there and OK, so that my results won't be delayed for God knows what reason..hehe :D

BONs do not issue the ATT, that is done by Pearson-Vue.

What is on the ATT must match the passport and other supporting documents or there can be issues later on.

thanks guys for the input.

I think i'll be paying IDD for calling pearson vue. *sigh*

Is there anyone here in the same situation as I am?

we have the same problem, when i register i pearsonvue a few months ago for my nclex-rn exam there is no suffix "jr" on my ATT even though i gave them the suffix prior but they have not inluded it . and i asked the pearson vue regarding this matter i they told me that it was ok. when the day of my exam came I was nervous since I was the last being admitted for the exam because they need to verify the pearson vue regarding my suffix "jr".

you have to call the pearson vue and your BON to include your suffix "jr" on your ATT because whatever name is written on that ATT will be the one that will appear on your license.

I myself had undergone a problem when i recieved my result and my license with an incomplete name. so to correct it I sent to BRN some documents like NSO livebirth and civil registrar certification as proff to my name requesting them to include my suffix "jr".and im glad they have responded to my request. as of this moment i just recieved my new usrn license with my complete name.:loveya:

thanks walter.

I just called pearson vue on their asia pacific hotline and they told me that it's ok. However, with your experience I am starting to doubt them again.

I'm just wondering, is the suffix 'jr' really important? if it is, then why did my BON didn't include it?

And if it is important, why did pearson vue sent me an ATT without my 'jr'?

By the way walter, were you able to test on your testing date without the jr on your att? how long did it take them to verify your papers? thanks

the suffix "jr" is important since all your documents should match with the jr suffix in it. i strongly suggest that you request another ATT to include your suffix "jr" so as not to face the same problem i had.

we have the same problems with the pearson vue but on my bon they have included my suffix "jr".

yes I was able to sat for the exam only last one to be admitted.

thanks for the info.

Called up pearson vue today both on the asia pacific number and the local testing center. They said that the omission of the suffix 'jr' is ok. But I would heed your advice as I do not want to face what you had experience. thanks.:wink2:
