My NCLEX experience...

First of all, since everyone always asks. I got a 94% on my HESI and a 82% on Mosby CAT. I did roughly 3000 questions between now and the end of nursing school, not including all the ones I did during nursing school. I used Kaplan, Saunders, Drexel and a local test-taking progam from STAT nursing called "Good thinking".

I not afraid to admit I was tied in a knot all of last last and most of this morning. The woman at the front desk, god bless her, had a big smile and a infectious laugh so I got to relax a little. In fact, everyone at the testing center was very nice.

At first the questions seemed straightforward, then I hit 75...100...125. And my confidence started to plummet. Alot of priority, alot of infection control, 3 math, 1 select all that apply, alot of peds. Then it stopped in the 150's. I was going to take a break at 200. That has me a little nervous. But all I could think of at the time was "Thank GOD its over". Thats basically the feeling I've kept with since then. I treated myself to a pastry and $5 cup of coffee at Panera bread and stopped at my favorite bookstore. I aim on relaxing today and trying not to worry about it.

It is true you walk out of there not knowing how you did. But I did my best so now its just the waiting game.

You seem to be taking this exceptionally well... Most people feel like crew members of a submarine approaching crush depth and the accompanying dark, frigid death.... you're a rare breed! Good luck and may good fortune follow you...

Oh, don't get me wrong. I get panicky everything I think of it, esp since I found out this morning PA doesn't participate in quick results so now I don't know when to start looking for my results on the BON website.

let me assume that PA= Pennsylvania- start looking on Friday/Monday. the soonest they post is 2 business days after- but one of my friends didn't get her results for over a week.

good luck!!

It seems to me that you prepared very well! Good luck! :)

Pendragon, I am in the same boat as you except I found the first 5-10 questions easy then it seemed to hit the fan. I thought I was holding my own for the first 50 or so and when the computer kept going 75 to 100 then 150. I was just asking God to spare me the misery and end it already. It cut off at about 170. Afterwards I went with my friend to Chili's, had a beer and pigged out.

I had also found out that a classmate of mine failed, that didn't give me warm fuzzies but if I do fail, I wasn't the first. I would just hate to sit thru that again.

Anyway good luck to you

Jim

the test went by sooooo fast for me, all I remember is that I never took a test like this before, I was jumpy, nervous and scared, but tried to stay focused, it just went by like the blink of an eye;)

OMG!! HA. That is exactly how I feel!!!! I take my nclex Thurs. :monkeydance: I am not one who has practiced though .Just been too burnt out and felt that when I took my ATI way back in fifth quarter (out of six total) I scored 99 percent chance of passing..so we'll see if they are correct. Truthfully just too burnt out after school. I have on day to practice some delegation ..and that's about it. We'll see. Definitely feel like I'm on that sub.

Way to go brother or sister!

I just got 116 q's today and am freaking out! In my head I have already suffered two heart attacks, a cva, and have been visited and probed by aliens! What a mind bleep!

Reprimandy, I am in the same boat. I had 157 questions most of which I am unsure about. I posted on another thread my experience, believe me I have been in pure agony since I finished this morning @ 11 or so. I know this will be another sleepless night. I am losing it. But Pendragon I think is the original poster and she passed in the 150s so we just have to wait and see. Her post has given me a little more hope than I have had because I was and kinda still am convinced that I failed. We'll see. I'll let you know!!

I Took Mine Last July 25th... I Am Waiting For My Result. I Remember Answering Siff Topics As Well....but I Am Worried That I Missed Some Of The Easy Question.. Does That Mean I Failed? I Stopped At 75...i Am Overly Worried! I Pretty Much Had A Lot Of Guesses Esp Regarding Meds!
