LOL....not when you're not a nurse yet, you're young and you've never had a severe back injury. But yeah...I'm guessing nurses have some serious issues.

what do you do for back pain? Do you go to physio? Chiro? :)

I have nothing to do with the sale of this product, but I am a satisfied user. I work with quite a few nurses who had these funny looking shoes with a spring in the heel. Several said they saved their careers, so I was willing to try anything. I had been buying "good" shoes in the $80 range and still having foot and back pain at the end (or beginning) of each shift. The ones I have were $200 but I am told they should last 5-6 years. I have had them about a month now and they really do make a difference. I work 12 hour shifts in a very busy ER. I have been wearing a pedometer lately, and it shows I walk close to 10 miles per shift! As a 51 year old with a few extra pounds, I needed all the help I could get!! You may want to check out their site. I got mine locally and I was quite impressed with the salesperson. She worked with me about an hour getting them just right, watched me walk for a long while and made adjustments.

I don't normally endorse particular products and I hope this reply doesn't get pulled because of it, but they really do make a difference. They take a little getting use to, because you are suddenly taller, but they are very stable and you really have a "spring in your step". I work with one lady who has 4 pair, 2 for work and 2 casual. Check it out.

My sweet hubby bought me a foot massager a few years ago, the kind you fill with warm water and it vibrates your feet. I can't use it either, cause the vibration tickles so much I can't leave my feet in it! What a shame, it looked like such a good idea!

:chuckle Mental picture of you giggling with your feet in this contraption!

Funny!

i second that emotion!! i get a massage every couple weeks, and miss it like crazy when i don't make it in for some reason. it is one of the ways that i totally spoil myself, and it is so worth it. :)

i also wear these gems...not cheap, by any means, but they're the only shoes i wear at work. i used to wear danskos, but they seemed to be too hard on my feet. let's also give some respect for getting regular exercise, too...you can wear the best possible shoes and support hose, but if you have got a heavy tummy, that is putting serious stress on your back and feet. don't want to get preachy here, but i used to be 300+ lbs, and since the weight is off (-125 lbs), my back and feet are so much happier.
