My ADN program does NOT

require pharmacology or medical terminology. I find this weird! Do you???:redlight:

they must integrate it into another class or something. How far are you in the program?

my nursing class is the first to have to take pharmacology...and medical terminology isn't required at all :-)

Yes I do...but do you mean a separate class or they don't cover pharmacology at all??? Some schools put their pharm class in with another class. At my BSN program I took pathophysiology as a separate class but my new school it isn't a separate class but combined with the lecture portion of whatever clinical rotation you are in. Not bad for me as I will just be reviewing information I already learned. But both BSN programs had separate pharmacology classes. The medical terminology was apart of our nursing theory class with dose calculation too.

Exactly my thoughts. I start in the Fall. I also didn't need CNA prior.

Both are probably integrated into your med-surg or fundamental classes. I wouldn't be alarmed, and honestly, even if you do have a separate pharm class, you still end up learning/reviewing drugs when studying their respective systems (ie cardiac drugs when doing cardiac, etc).

We are not required to take medical terminology, although it is recommended, but we are required to take pharmacology in the first semester.

I meant separate classes! Thanks guys. I've been making a lot of posts lately but I am going back for my second degree and am just making sure of everything! :) I will be starting pre-reqs this fall full-time. I have a few of the classes finished already but my friend who;s at the same school said something about medical terminology for when we come back for our RN. She was confusing the hell out of me because our program is for ASN which we get prepared to take test for our RN. I was getting worried.

Mine doesn't either, it's incorporated into the Fundamentals classes.

Mine requires Pharm, but not Med Term.
