too much load???

Hi ! I cannot decide if I getting into too much work this Fall.

I'm starting nursing program. Planning to go full-time on it. Plus I need to take Physiology. Total it will be 14 credits. Doesn't sound too bad but these nursing credits aren't count as usual, are they???

Add up a 15-month old hyper boy and 16 hours of work in 2-weeks.

Is it too much???

I've been an A student through my pre-reqs. I don't hope to do like that in Nursing. I just don't want to fail.

Need you advice if I set myself up for failing.

Thank you

I'd talk to my adviser about the situation and see what she'd suggest! :) I'm going to have to take 18 credit hours my first semester to coincide with the schedule layout they've laid out for program starters. It can be done, but it's not easy. I've seen around here where some were taking 23 credit hours! I'm not sure if they had kids though, and probably didn't work often. I'd say take it easy, drop down a couple of hours if you can. But most definitely talk with your adviser on the matter.

So confused.

Well, I don't have to do bridge. Our program allow to take LPN exam half-way through the program but it is RN program (with opportunity to get LPN after 1st year).

I'm CNA, I'm not single but my hubby going crazy about schools and trying to get to PA program, ALthough he is very supporive

Well since you are all ready a CNA but the school does not require you to be then the first term will be mostly stuff you all ready know. Before being a CNA was required at schools here most people I spoke to who did the LPN program who were all ready CNA's talked about how easy/similar the first term was! I'd say take the class then if the only way you can keep going in the program to the end (RN) then go for it.

CNA is a prereq to get into my program

It might be better to wait and take it next semester (or summer) after you know exactly what you are getting yourself into and you have your study routines down. If you really want to take it this semester though and you are committed to making it work then I'm sure you can do it. I'm just about to start a similar program and there are about 3 or 4 people who will be taking a class besides the nursing classes.

where are you taking it???

I decide to take it

I'm carrying 18 units in one quarter in an accelerated BSN program while being a wife, and a mother of two. If I can do it, so can you! Good luck!
