Posted by Doglover: This actually brought a smile to my face. I have an MBA but considered nursing school as a safety net in case I couldn't manage the difficult courses in business school. It doesn't take much brains to get thru nursing school, so it's a nice back-up if someone can't make it in a demanding profession.
As one with both an MSN and MBA, I perhaps am more qualified to tell you that you need to refrain from eating too many dog biscuits.

Just curious Zenman - which degree MSN/MBA was/is more useful for you? I'm in a BSN/MSN program and had seriously considered an MBA. Thanks.
Kinda depends on what you want to do or where you want to go. MSN more likely to keep you in nursing (with wage compression) or healthcare field whereas the MBA can take you in most any area.

(just curious about what how people are going about their education.......)
ps--did you have another degree when you entered the field?

I think it has been established that doglover is a troll, and not a real nurse. Maybe they play one on tv or something...
Yes, but I had a need to slap him/her around a little. :chuckle
Hartsbur - I was an LPN, then did an ADN bridge program. Now, I'm doing a combined BSN/MSN. (I've been an RN for 10 years). I'm going to University of Phoenix online and like it a lot.
what's your MSN specialty in???
:)
