When you get your license in MS, what other states is the license good for?

Specializes in ICU, Pediatric, Psychiatric, Med/Surg.

Mississippi is one of the "compact states" and there are alot of states on our list.

Do keep in mind that a compact license allows you to work in the other compact states while still residing in your home state. If you move to another state, you are required to apply for licensure in the new state.

So the compact license is mainly for travel nurses then, right? Just trying to make sense of it all.

Or people who live near a state line and have job opportunities in the "next-door" states as well. For instance, my home is within a comfortable commute of (parts of) three other states -- a compact license gives me the option of looking for employment in any of those other three states, too, without having to maintain a separate license for the other state(s).
