Someone told me today they waited 3 months for an Ohio license, said the background check took forever. Is this true? Seems like 6 weeks would be more than adequate. Does this seem like a long time to you?

The application says it can take up to six months to do the background check, I actually just applied for a temporary license since I have active licenses in 2 other states and that only takes 2 weeks and is good for 6 months, and it's free. According to the application if you do the electronic fingerprinting as opposed to the traditional method, it speeds up the process.

Electronic fingerprinting is supposed to cut down on your wait time. In my case they lost the results of my background check. All in all I had about an 8 week wait after applying to taking NCLEX. They had my license to me within 4 days of taking NCLEX.
thanks for the input. :)
