Hi Stars

Dianah thanks for sharing the photo

Tweety glad you're off for a bit

Ado have a good trip

Yesterday was a quieter day.  Did the cooking in the morning and the dishes.  Then went to church.  After church rested a bit and then did some cleaning the the laundry and exercised.  Watched the remainder of The Seven Dials

Today have an online meeting with the events committee for the gay group tonight.  Also have to call the mechanic, the car is still making that sound, and this time I was able to record it.  Hopefully can get it in later this week.  Nothing else planned apart from exercise

Going to be quite warm today, up to the mid 60s

Good morning!

Safe travels Ado.

Joe, I hope they can figure out what the noise is.

We're having our typical Winter weather in the 60's and low 70's.  I can't complain.  I noticed the heat was on when I got up.  I keep it pretty warm at 74.

I ordered something on Amazon before going to bed last night around 10pm and it was here when I got up.  Politics aside, it's a great service.

I slept late this morning.  Went back to sleep after feeding Waffles.  I have a guy coming to fix my front storm door opener that broke during a windstorm a few weeks ago.  It's really something I should be able to do but I'm not handy and don't have the right tools.  I used the app Task Rabbit which is another good service to find a handyperson but they take a big commission which really jacks up the price for what will be a simple task.  Oh well.

Otherwise a normal day.  If I get to the gym and get the bathrooms clean those will be my only goals for the day.  Bowling tonight.

Have a great day.

So the Task Rabbit guy came and fixed my door in 60 seconds.  He figured out how to work the new door closer without tools.  Not sure my my dumb self couldn't figure it out.  It was embarrassing and I tipped him 25% and and paid Task Rabbit sent him on his way making the easiest money I'm sure he made all day.

I want to use the contractor that did best friend's storm damaged condo and best friend wanted a list of things I wanted done and he would give it to him as he's working on the condo next to his.  Being the English professor emeritus that he is he sent me wordy revisions, including butt kissing compliments on why I was picking him.  I sent them to him but told him to remember I'm a to the point person and not wordy like that.  Once he asked me to read a letter he was writing his insurance company and I slashed half of it as being to wordy.  LOL. He also does that to people on the phone gives them a huge story before getting to the point.

Gouda Aphternoon!

It's in the high 60's and sunny. When I was walking Tinker I saw 3-4 pieces of trash I did not get yesterday; these are up toward the road and I didn't go up that far when I was picking up hubby's trash from the woods. I am about to go get them now to add to the stuff I have saved under the carport, for Bil to haul away. Okay, gonna do it RIGHT NOW

I DOOD IT! ...... there were 5 round hanging planters and an  oblong planter, and several jars/bottles and a large folded cardboard box, and a lonesome envelope. So I think that's all of it!

I hope I don't come down with 'dog-scratch-fever'.... when I was playing fetch and grab with Tinker, today, my little finger got caught on one of her canine teeth, and it gouged 2 'nice' little holes in the side of the pad of my left pinky. I made it bleed a lot, and washed it and made it bleed some more, being sure to get any gross tooth residue out of the hole(s). Now I am bandaged up. Hope that's all the excitement for the day!

Going to hop out to the store and get the eggs and butter I forgot to get in my previous store run. Oh, and more dish detergent, too. I don't think President's Day is a big enough holiday that the grocery store is closed. Then when I get back, there are a few dirty cups, dog dishes and some spoons in the sink. I'll wear gloves when I wash them so the bandage on my little finger doesn't get wet and make me have to change the bandage again.

So, that's the plan for the day, and after those dishes get washed, I dunno! I read that the West coast is going to get pummeled with another storm (snow?). Not here though!

Maybe there is another old movie on TCM I can watch. Yesterday I watched the movie with Joe Pesci and Marisa Tomei were in, can't remember the name of it, but it is the one where they go to Alabama and he has to go to court to get his cousin out of jail. I haven't seen it for a long time, so there was a lot of it I didn't remember, except for the scene where she is stamping her foot and saying her biological clock is ticking. Anyway, it was kinda fun to see again.

Can't remember where Ado is going, but I hope her 'airplane ride' is uneventful! Meanwhile I have to go get my purse and car keys so I won't have been lying to y'all about going to the store!

Hello all!

LOL, Tweety, I know what you mean about being wordy VS being to-the-point!  Dh and I have different styles of writing, and usually he asks me to edit his, which I do mainly for grammar (not style -- it is his, after all!).  Glad you got the door fixed, and it was an easy fix.  We are not "handy" people at all, it's always good to find someone who will do the job for us!

Joe, glad you were able to "catch" the car making its off-kilter noise!  How was Seven Dials?  Nice you have a holiday today!

Yesterday we picked up fiddler and drove up to Oak Glen for the Hymn Sing.  Or, Gospel Sing, whatever you want to call it!  About 50 ppl showed up and sang enthusiastically!  There were cookies and coffee and water available.  Fiddler played piano and dh played banjo, I played guitar, and bass player E -- well, he played bass!  There was one other guitar player, and the host played mandolin sometimes.  His dad, D (the patriarch) played banjo.  There were three vocalists helping lead -- host D calls them The Andrews Sisters!  They are nice to listen to, they blend so well.  We really enjoyed the session.  Afterwards we were invited to host D's house, nearby, for supper.  He'd made a pot roast and a stew, plus there were salads.  Most of the participants in the Hymn Sing came, plus his family were there, as Sunday evening they usually have a family get-together.  He and his wife have four grown daughters, plus a few grands.  It was very relaxing and just nice to be there.

Today we have rain, and possibly more tomorrow, though the prediction for tomorrow is more like 39% rather than today's 79%.  I will make soup and probably an apple crisp today -- nice weather for both!

Have a good day!  (safe travels, Ado!)

It's been raining since noon here. I went on a short bike ride this morning, but cut it short because of the cold, mainly because my knees get stiff when chilled. And I took the dogs for a short walk. Then home to clean the bathrooms and vacuum.

I trust Annie has safely reached her destination by now. I wouldn't mind flying somewhere warm. We are going to Seattle for the weekend, but that won't be warm, but likely cool and damp.

I can do a few repairs, and dh can install electrical things, but mostly I call a pro. When we were younger and appliances weren't so complicated, I had a repair book and used to fix things. Now with computer chips and modules, I don't bother. I use an app called Thumbtack. Its work well so far.

Stars, that movie is My Cousin Vinny and I think it's hilarious. Marissa Tomei won an oscar for her performance. I love her explanation about the posi-traction on the getaway car.

j22's, Thanks for boosting my memory. I guess I could have looked it up, but that movie is pretty well known, so I knew y'all would know which one I meant. Marissa really DESERVED that Oscar, for sure! ?

No movies tonight that I want to see, on the channels I get., so I have been listening to and half-watching HGTV, because they actually mostly ran shows tonight that I hadn't seen yet.

Tinker is telling me it is time to go up to bed and give her the treats she gets every night. Then, after her treats, she makes her rounds of the house and barks at every door and some windows, giving the whole world a warning that she is ON DUTY and they better not mess with her. Most of the time I just let her bark to her heart's content; sometimes when it goes on for too long, I call her back upstairs to bed. It's something she's only started in the last couple weeks.

Good Nyte!

j22, I didn't mean to make you 'multiple' (...."j22's") You don't have multiple personalities that I know of!

I made it safely to My-yammy where it is 75 degrees tonight and, of course, humid. It took all day to get here. I am bad at making travel arrangements, I think. There is a Miami in Oklahoma. I've never been there. But local lore says it is pronounced My-amma. My mother had a friend Naomi who she always called Naomah so maybe it is an eastern Oklahoma thing. Makes me think of Milan, Indiana (MY-len), the real team behind the story of the movie Hoosiers. And then there's Prague, Oklahoma. Proud of its Czech heritage, annual Czech ?? festival, best kolaches ever. But no one says PrAAg. Instead it sounds more like the name Craig.

Hubs is pretty handy. I think that's why my mother finally decided it wasn't a completely horrible thing that I married him. She always complained that my dad was NOT handy. She would try her hand at almost anything, though. One old college friend does handyman jobs in retirement. He doesn't need the money but maybe he enjoys it.
