minorities in your program

Published

I had orientation for my BSN program in Cincinnati, OH. There were 184 students accepted. Out of all the students only about 12 were from a minority group. I was actually surprised because I heard it usually don't be any more than 5. I was glad. Can anyone share how diverse is their program?:clown:

We have 78 people accepted to our program here in st louis/st charles. Of those there were 4 black people(i'm one of the 4). I'm thinking there were maybe 4 people of asian descent.

I am so happy for us both! I feel so proud to be able to represent minorities in nursing!

We have 50 accepted into our program. 4 asians (including me), 3 african-americans, don't really know how many Hispanic (I know of 2), and 11 men :) I love diversity!!! :yeah:

I attended a private nonprofit LVN program in southern CA in 2005 with 24 people in the class, and only four students were Caucasian. The rest were Asian (mostly Filipino), Latino, and black. I was one of the three black students in the class.

I also attended a for-profit RN completion program at a trade school in Oklahoma City in 2010. I would estimate that about 50 percent of the students belonged to a racial-ethnic minority.

My school accepted 40+ students for my program. 3 are males, about 10 are Hispanic and 2 are African American. Pretty diverse for southern Colorado.

I forgot about the men! There are 5 in my program that I know of.
