The SSN is almost universally used for identification in the US. You will most certainly need to provide this in your application. To find out the MN requirements, go to their website. You can find their website listed on this site.

You are not applying for NCLEX but licensure to be a RN in the US state of Minnesota and all requirements are on their website. You will need to pass CGFNS exam. Titles changed to reflect this

They may allow you to apply with no SSN but one may be required before they issue you a license

Hi Silverdragon, thanks for the information you shared. I just want to clarify something.. So you mean I have to take up the CGFNS qualifying exam and then if I passed I have also to request a Credentials Evaluation Service from the CGFNS. so that i can apply a nclex in minessota.

By the way, if i can pass the nclex exam there. and because i am a foreign nurse and it will take longer for me to work there and get a SSN. Can i renew it?..without an SSN. Cause im thinking what if i pass the nclex and after the deadline i cant still provide my SSN. They might destroy my file and that would make me take the nclex again....

thank you and God bless

Have you actually checked the link out from Silverdragon and have you checked the CGFNS site, because your questions indicate you haven't!

Part of the CGFNS certificate is an evaluation of your education, please check the site out.

Many states will not issue a license without a SSN but they will not destroy your file. Ca has stated unless you ask for an extension or submit a SSN they will destroy your file.
