Miami Dade College Nursing Program 2014

Published

Hello all,

I have a few questions for all current and future nurses. Are they anyone currently in the nursing program at MDC? Will there be anyone applying for the 2014 Fall semester Nursing program? If so what options will you be choosing? Has anyone substituted Mac1105 for MGF1106? Will MDC accept MGF1106 instead of Mac1105? Has anyone gotten into the program with Mgf1106? I've called the medical campus several times and each time i get a different person with a different answer.

I saw on the MDC medical campus website that there is a new type of entrance exam replacing the Teas. Is anyone familiar with this exam? Will the grading be similar to the Teas? What can we expect as far as material that is covers?

I'm currently an Lpn and will be applying to the transitional program both pt/ft. What options will you be taking? What have you done so far to prepare yourselves? How do you calculate the science GPA? Is everyone as nervous as i am? I'm not applying to any other program i'm kind of putting all of my eggs in one basket. I really pray that i get in. I've gotten A's and B's in my science classes but i heard that its pretty competitive.

I hope to read all of your stories soon.....

thanks

hello, i plan on applying for the nursing program at Miami dade for the fall 2014 - accelerated program. I currently have my bachelors in biology. I haven't taken the NLN PAX yet however i plan on taking it on the 25th of April. my cumm gpa is 3.66 & my science gpa is 3.78. I hear that the minimum for the NLN is 106 with a score of 50% in each of the sections to be considered. When are you taking the exam? what is your gpa?

I have a 2.9 cum gpa and 3.8 science gpa. I'm planning on applying for the transitional program. I haven't taken the nln either, i plan on taking it towards the end of this month. I'm having difficulty with the math section. I know its 40 questions. Does that mean i only have to get 20 out of the 40 problems correct? Is that how they get the 50%?

I think you are referring to the P.E.R.T. It's similar to boards; it gives questions already answered correctly. So, in the that respect, it actually helps you to pass.

hey im not sure how they get the 50% but yes i am assuming its half or more points on each section ....so 20 out of 40 for math but since there will be 54 questions in the math portion 14 of which wont be graded so you don't know exactly which 20 you need to get right. so its best to aim for higher throughout the whole exam. SAME THING for each seaction

i Having the exam on April 25 too my GPA is 3.58 , i hope to pass and apply the same day for fall 2014.

whats similar to the PERT?

Planning on taking mine the 29th! Any advice on study tips? I'm freaking out "/

tips so far is to go over the practice exams over and over again. I heard time is a killer so make sure you know the shortest steps for the math portion. As far as the science i heard physics focusing on the laws & waves is a MUST as there is lots of physics questions on there. Just prepare the best that you can & give it 100 percent

let us know how test goes. i take mine on the 26th...
