Hi all,
I have seen several posting about Methodist hospitals in the Houston area but I was hoping someone had some info on Methodist in San Antonio.
I graduate in two weeks (yeah!) I have interviewed for an internship which I am pretty excited about. I was told by several classmates that Methodist is the lowest paying hospital in San Antonio. I heard they start out at $18 an hour while Baptist starts at $21.50 and Santa Rosa at $22. Does anyone have any recent experience at this hospital or have done an internship as a new grad that could give me any advice?
Thank you in advance!

What position did you interview for? The nurse recruiter said that they wouldnt start looking at apps until after April 23rd
I got an interview early because I have a friend on the "inside." The interview was pretty intense. I have never had an interview last over an hour before and I still have to do a peer interview. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.
I had tried to apply earlier to some RN positions and got a message back that said I had to apply to only the GN positions. Do you know how many GNs they generally hire for each position?
Do you know when this internship program starts?
I was told the internship starts the second or third week in June.

Saw your post. I have my interview next week. Can I ask what kind of questions they asked in such a long interview?
They didn't so much ask me questions as they did a lot of telling me about the unit and what they want out of an employee. They want someone who is going to be a long term employee, willing to work nights, etc... At the peer interview they asked why I became a nurse and why I wanted to work on the unit. I didn't do something right because I didn't get the job. I'm happy though because I ended up being offered a position at Santa Rosa which was my first choice.
Good luck! Let us know how it goes. What unit are you interviewing on?
Thanks for the info! I interviewed for the med-surg floors at methodist specialty and transplant and methodist metropolitan. I got offered both positions! I think I'm going to accept the one at Specialty and Transplant. Lower nurse:pt ration, and lower acuity.

DO NOT GO TO WORK AT METHODIST!!!!!!
I am a travel nurse and have been to around 20 hospitals in my career so far. This is hands down the worst hospital in the country to work for. The place is unbearable for travelers but it is just as bad for the regular staff. Methodist does not have one nurse currently working there who has been there for more than 5 years. Every staff nurse I spoke to hates Methodist and are looking for other jobs. Methodist has over 600 job listings right now and they only have around 2000 employee's. They are forced to use around 250 travel nurses at a time b/c no one keeps a staff job there. I promise if you work there you will hate it.

Bluegrass, maybe posts like yours get deleted because They are ridiculous. You have made 4 posts That are all negative. The information is not factual at all. Methodist main hospital alone employees more that 2000. There are 10 other Methodist facilities in San Antonio not to mention the rest of the country. My guess is your mad cause THEY canceled your contract. I don't even work for them and think your posts are ridiculous.
