I will be moving to Meridian this summer. Can anyone tell me the starting pay for RN's at the local hospitals like Rush, Riley and Jeff Anderson? I would also like to find out about Alliance Health Center , East Mississippi and Heartfelt Hospice. Any info appreciated!!!:thankya:

I am not sure but suggest you visit www.salary.com. Type in the Meridian zip code and your experience and get a free salary average for RN's in the area.

In theory it is based on experience, I have 10 years Emergency, Critical Care experience and was offered a whopping $18.00 an hour for nights in CVICU.

Got $10.00 more an hour in Jackson, for base and $2.00 for nights

Holy Crap!! Meridian sux!!

Check this out: my husband is an ICU travel nurse on assignment at Jeff Anderson in Meridian. Regular RN's get 20 an hour but essentially no benefits. They can be admitted to their own hospital, but their insurance won't even cover a visit to a doctor. Need medication? You have to pay it 100% out of pocket for an entire year, at the end of the year you get "some" of it back. Turnover rate their is amazingly high. RN's on his shift are not happy campers.

Of course this doesn't affect hubby, he makes more than two RN's combined plus awesome bennies from travel agency.

man there are like 3 hospitals within a block of each other in meridian, and the pay is that low!!! man those nurses need to start working the system and promote some competative hiring and wage wars between the hospitals.
