Traveled to Methodist Healthcare. Methodist is on CERNA. Pretty good patient/staff ratios. Be careful with your contract that it has where you are working and a location address because they have 7 locations. My contract said Methodist Healthcare not the specific hospital I was supposed to work for. Just make sure your contract is exactly what you need...days off etc.

St Francis is a good hospital too. The MED is a trauma hospital but mainly indigent go there...

They also have St. Jude there...which is the childrens hospital...its a good place.

Memphis is a very dangerous place. I feel safer in NY city.

There is a shortage there...they use agencies alot. Very traveler friendly...people in the hospitals are nice...you have Tunica close by to gamble...

What do you mean by "indigent"? I am going to start there 12/3/07 in the neuro trauma ICU, and I want to know what I am getting myself into.

non-insured,poor and homeless. tell me about you assignment there. what company are you going with, i need some info...

I start 12/3/07 in the Neuro/Trauma ICU. Going with Intelistaf. Maybe not a good idea, but I've already done 2 contracts with them and so far no major problems.

never worked there, but have always sort of wanted to. i can just imagine the exp. you can get from a place such as that. i'm working now with a rn who worked at the med about 5yrs ago on a trauma step down unit while she traveled with american mobile, she said she loved it, but it was hard work. she claims that she would have tried to sign on again there but had to come to mississippi d/t family illness. can i private mail you later on and ask how you like it once you get your feet on the ground?

that's fine. u can private mail me. give me about 2 weeks to get situated and i'll let u know how it's going.

best barbecue you will find anywhere. good concerts and games at the pyramid. don't go downtown at night, be cautious during the day time, and never alone. rock 103 is a great radio station, will laugh your butt off with the "wake-up crew". work is most certainly be plentiful. i used to work prn over on the west memphis side..was called the "rod & gun club". weather in the winter is sort of crappy. wish you well.
