Get "Medical Surgical Nursing Made Incredibly Easy"!! GREAT book! Very easy to understand. Great to read before you jump into reading your text book which can get wordy and confusing. They have it on Amazon and a few other websites, I think there are a couple different editions of it too.

How long is your class? I had med Surg for 6 weeks and I didn't use any additional resources. What helped me thru was to focus on what the abnormalities of each system because that's what med surg deals with. I'm not sure if I worded this correctly but I hope this bit of advice helps!

Well im in med surge 1 & right now i hv a 87 average with 3 test & a final to take, tryin to get that "A" but i'll be happy with my "B". For me i made charts & studied from those, i read my chapter 2 times & possibly a 3rd time. If LEARN the disease, patho, signs & symptoms & what nursing interventions to implement you will be fine! You will see why fundamentals is so important because it put down the firm foundation & you build the rest of the house from there on! I read my book & notes, answer questions & then after ive used my school resources i go to the section in the nclex book & study that to as well as do the questions. I make sure i understand it as good as i can by any means necessary & the questions i get wrong i consider those my weak areas & i go back to my school book over that area & reread. When you answering those questions, ask yourself why is this? & if u can explain the why then you have it! Good luck & you will be good! STUDY STUDY STUDY! & dont 2nd guess ur self(thats what i do alot on my test "i started to put that because i knew that") just put it!
That NcLEX book is an awesome book! Med Surg is a beast but as long as you study you'll be fine :)
