MDC Fall 2011 =)

Hi guys! Who else is applying for MDC Fall 2011?

I am also applying for FIU-- I was accepted last year to MDC but for financial and personal reasons could not attend. :'( Who else will be applying to Generic FT? Please state what program you will be applying to!

I will be taking the TEAS sometime in March, in which I will also be taking the HESI A2 for FIU. So I might as well be studying for both, lol. Anybody taken the TEAS at MDC? Share your experiences here! :) I will be using a general book for nursing school entrance exams... it's by Barron... and I will be studying my math from a nursing calculation book, and my sciences from my anatomy, biology, and other notes. Is it true there is geology on the exam? How irrelevant... lol

Well good luck to us all! :heartbeat

I heard its impossible to work during accelerated. I am going FT and have to work 17 hrs a week. But then again I'm on campus and they let me choose my hours week per week if need be. That is the ONLY reason why I would work.

the hep, varc, meas, is a skin test not a blood test.

im going to send you guys somewhere for the test i just want to go first so there isn't a line.but it is based on your income.

On Eagles- are you in the nursing program already? I would just like to get in, learn as much as possible, pass the boards, and become a great RN asp :p I know I was working 35-45 hours a week last semester, and was okay with my 11 credit course load, but I was just taking A&P 1 and 2 with labs and micro. It seems as though the general advice is that I would have a higher chance of success if I did generic since I really do need to pay bills and such ;P

Backtobasics- This is part of the check list for us to do: ". . .Provide supporting documentation for the following:a. Measles(Rubeola), Mumps and Rubella(German Measles) blood titer lab results . . ." Based on that, I would say that the school is requiring blood tests to confirm immunity for all but the TB test.

Here is a link to a company that has several locations, and (seemingly)up-front pricing:

Hey, no I just got my acceptance email yesterday. I have bills to pay too and I just got the best job ever so no way am I quitting... it is going to be challenge I am sure but we have to do what we have to do!!! As long as we keep disciplined with our time we'll make it :)

Just in case anyone else signed up and paid for the fingerprinting/background check: They do not begin until the 21st. I signed up for and had an appointment for today, only to wait an hour and a half and be told that there was apparently a glitch in the system that allowed me and (at least) one other student to sign up for the fingerprinting.

I haven't gone through the online background check yet because I did one for a different program that I ended up changing my mind about enrolling in. I think it was a level 3 not level 2 like this one but I did have my fingerprints taken at the north campus. Is that one of the options on this one? And is it $56?

...I'm just hoping I don't have to pay again for at least the fingerprinting portion.

sorry i was trying to edit something!

Just wanted to let the ones know who did not get in...I went today the medical campus and they said that all of the acceptance emails went out yesterday..now the school is just waiting for people to accept or decline so that they can fill in more seats. The deadline to accept or decline is June 24 which is next Friday. .so we're not gonna know anything else until after that date..I have cried like a baby today..the worse part was telling my boys that I did not get in. I feel like a failure in their eyes..I have a 3.82 GPA and a 78.7 on my TEAS and have worked my ass of for 2 1/2 years to get to this..people with a GPA of 3.4 but a TEAS of 82 got in..I'm sorry I don't mean to sound so hostile..I just need to be sad for a couple of days and regroup :crying2: :crying2:

Mocadell-- I *JUST* ran upstairs from the nursing front desk and I asked the lady in the front if it was true that all emails for acceptance were sent out and she said NO, acceptance emails will be going out til june 30th, so if you have not gotten an email, it does NOT mean you have been rejected!!!

SO DON'T CRY GIRL :)
