Hi guys...
My dh and I are considering a move to the Eastern Shore of MD within a few weeks/months.
What can you all tell me about the area hospitals? Good places to work? Not-so-good? I have family in Wicomico Co and it seems to be a nice area. I'm not opposed to working somewhere across the bay or in Delaware but our main residence would likely be on the Eastern Shore.
Thanks in advance for any help/advice/pointers.:balloons:
P.S. I'm a license compact state, so licensure should not be a problem.

Avoid Union Hospital in Elkton. Have been a pt there several times, staff not happy, poor pay and benefits.
If you will be in northern eastern shore area, Christiana Care in Delaware may be worth the drive. Nurses there seem happy.
If you are really north and close to Delaware, many of the hospitals in Delaware County, Pennsylvania have 12 hour shifts (making a longer drive more reasonable) and have good pay and benefits. PM me if you need more info.

remember that when you change your state of primary residence, you are limited in the length of time that you can work on your old nursing license. the national council of state boards of nursing rules regarding the nursing licensure compact states: a nurse changing primary state of residence, from one party state to another party state, may continue to practice under the former home state license and multi-state licensure privilege during the processing of the nurse's licensure application in the new home state for a period not to exceed thirty (30) days. (statutory basis: articles 4b, 4c, and 4d[1])
you can contact the maryland state board of nursing at the following address for further information regarding the endorsement process and length of time required:

the agape center also maintains a list of us hospitals by state, although it is not 100% complete.
good luck in your move.
