MCC or SC4?

I have decided on a career change to Nursing! I am currently taking Eng1180 at Macomb. (Starting from scratch)I have heard from people that it is very difficult to get into the Macomb nursing program. A few people I know completed their ADN @ SC4. Are the chances of being accepted there better??? Haven't talked to them yet- wondering if anyone recommends one over the other, and do the credits transfer if I opted to switch schools. Any info would be greatly appreciated!!!!!!

Congratulations on your career choice. I do know MCC is very hard to get into, for that matter, every school is. I took the Hesi last year and did not do very well, I think my score was an 82 or 83. I have a 4.0. Even with the 4.0 I ranked 385 out of 750. I am applying to St. Clair this time and Baker. Hopefully I will be accepted at one of them. As for transferring, you can check out the website (I think it is Michigan Transfer Network) and it will tell you if classes transfer from one school to the next.

To add to what J said, I would apply at as many schools as you can, and hope that you get into one of the programs.

I'm not sure about the details, but it sounds like MCC is admitting more students starting with our class that starts in october. They said they are adding 10 students to each starting point to make each class 40 students instead of 30. That should help everyone's chances in the future. Who knows, they could add even more next year.

That is awesome news! Thanks for the information!
