May have to postpone NCLEX!

:thnkg:Im sad for you when things you thought are in the right track but suddenly that letter from bon stating the rejection of you FBI card somehow spoil your drive on your scheduled exam. just weight things if postponing your exam will do good then by all means have it resched. :innerconfgood luck and update us with your decision and outcome of it..:loveya:

that is horrible, keep your chin up and deep breath. we try so hard to finish school and when things happen like this it drives us crazy. I just try and deep breath!!!

It is not normally two months for them to get the results from the FBI for fingerprints.

You do not lose the IP status until the the BON has told you that you have passed or failed; the IP will still be in effect until that time. I would go ahead with the date that you have scheduled. It will not change anything with you working until a license is issued or not issued.

Thanks but it doesn't quite work that way in Nevada. We are weird here. It takes at least 2 months here and up to 4 for fingerprints back. We have alot of people here who need fbi prints done (all casino personnel, schools staff, etc) Just about every job out requires fbi fingerprints. And nursing prints do not get priority. I did my original ones in July and my BON was just notified a week ago that mine were rejected. As for my license, if I test on Tuesday and pass my BON will receive the results within 2 weeks and at that time rescind my interim permit. They don't allow you to keep your interim here once you pass (or fail). Without those prints I don't get my RN license yet either. So that means I would have to leave my job and just hang out til the fingerprints come through for up to several months. I am hopeful though. :) Apparently there are over 200 potential RNs who were affected by rejected prints (not just new grads but travel nurses, relocated RNs from other states). All from the month of July. My BON is concerned about the large number and are meeting to discuss it and a possible solution. I have my fingers crossed. But for now it looks like I need to reschedule my test.

I also have a question that perhaps you, or someone else, can answer. If you fail the NCLEX, is your IP immediately listed as "Lapsed/Expired"?

So I'm still taking my test Tuesday! My BON decided that because so many people were affected by this (last count around 200) they would allow a temporary license to be issued. So if you have everything else in for your license and are just waiting on the FBI prints you can test and get a temp license until the FBI prints come back. They put you through 3 different fingerprint checks so just one of those has to be in for you to get your temp license. Ok...now back to studying...I took a break because I thought I would need to reschedule it.

I think if you fail it as soon as they get the results they pull your IP. They said it could take up to two weeks for them to get the results because they get them the old fashioned way, by mail.
