Math Requirement 1301 or 1302

Does anyone know if Math 1301 counts as the math requirement in the RN BSN program? I have read some terrible things about the College Algebra course through UTA and I am dreading it. (I am terrible at algebra)

I read somewhere that Math 1301 may suffice, however, it may be equally as complicated. Has anyone ran into this problem or know a solution? The local community college (as I live in Illinois) does not offer a transferable college algebra course, so that's not an option.

It has to be Math 1302-College Algebra

According to an email I just received from an academic advisor you are allowed to take either Math 1301 or 1302. It should also state that in your "Unofficial Course Map" you received in an email when accepted to UTA.

I am debating on which course to take. I literally have 3 classes left and just found out they are not accepting my college algebra. I am leaning towards Math 1301.

Good Luck!!

ABSOLUTELY DO NOT TAKE ALGEBRA AT UTA!! I am awful at Math and knew college algebra was not going to work for me at UTA. I took College Mathematics from Empire State College, completely online, not proctored, but completely doable! The cost was around $1200.00 but worth every penny. I made a B and it satisfies UTA's math requirement. I graduate next month with my BSN from UTA.

WOW! $1200 is crazy for an algebra class... I am sure it was worth it though. I keep hearing/reading horror stories about UTA's algebra course.

Anyone have any information or details on the MATH 1301 course at UTA?

I don't think UTA offers 1301 anymore, but they will accept it as a transfer credit.

I will check out Empire State then because I'm NOT taking any math at UTA! How long ago did you take your math though? I only have five more nursing classes, Algebra and Stats left.

I just check on the MyMav page, Math 1301 is still offered at UTA

OMG! I just checked the MyMav too and found it! I was told by my Academic Adviser (as of Spring 2013) that UT-Arlington no longer offered 1301! I'm absolutely perplexed and irritated! Why hasn't my adviser updated me?

Do yourself a favor and take college algebra at your local community college. I live in the dfw area and took math 1302 at Brookhaven Community College. It was online, cost me approximately $400 including My Math Lab and book and it was not proctored, so no worry about those fees.

Thanks. It is not offered online at my local community college, and my work/family schedule is unworkable with the offerings they have at the campus. I will look into Brookhaven.

Did UTA accept this class for you? They did not accept the college algebra class offered at my local community college. I just registered for Math 1301 and will be starting it 1/19/2015. I am very nervous about taking this class. Also, it is proctored... I don't have a clue about the fee or even how that works. I guess I better look into this!

My adviser confirmed with an email stating the Contemporary Math class (1332) offered at a community college near me would be accepted for 1301 or 1302. I don't know why you received the response that you did (?)
